Adaptation and Acclimatisation
Every habitat has different environmental conditions. Some habitats experience extremely low temperatures, while some receive rainfall throughout the year.
Animals develop a few features or behaviours that help them adapt themselves to adjust and survive in their habitats. These features or behaviours of an organism that allow it to survive in its natural habitat are called adaptations. Adaptation is a very slow process, and it occuars at the species level.
The following are examples of an animal and a plant adapting themselves to survive in a habitat.
Keywords
adapt: modify
Species: a group of similar organism.
The process through which small changes occur in the body of an organism over short periods of the time is called Acclimatisation.
