COMPOSITION OF AIR
In previous classes,we learned air is a mixture of gases. Did you know that air was considered pure substances untill French chemist Antoine Lavoisier discovered that it is a mixture?
Air comprises 78% nitrogen gas and 21% oxygen gas. The remaining 1% is made up of water vapour, dust, smoke particles, and other gases, such as carbon dioxide and argon the different components of air are discussed in detail below.

The proportion of nitrogen is the highest among all gases in the atmosphere it. is essential for the survival of living organisms. Nitrogen is needed by both plants and animals because it is an important constituent of proteins, which help in groowth.some other important uses of nitrogen are given below.
